Nicolette Hahn Niman, Diana Donlon, and Michael Dimock Present “The Dirt on Beef”

Cattle ranching is a lightning-rod issue for those passionate about agriculture, soil health, and climate change. But what are the actual risks to the land and potential benefits of livestock grazing? In a community discussion celebrating the United Nation’s International Year of Soil, we’ve invited a group of thought leaders on food and sustainable farming to discuss how we can feed the nation while restoring our soils and fighting climate change.

Join vegetarian rancher and environmental lawyer Nicolette Hahn Niman, author of Defending Beef and Diana Donlon, Director of the Cool Foods Program at the Center for Food Safety in a conversation moderated by Michael Dimock, President of Roots of Change, for a fresh look at cattle ranching. In a talk ideal for local farmers, ranchers, and anyone interested in the health of the planet, the speakers will discuss restoring soil and fighting climate change through rotational cattle grazing and composting on grasslands.
