Gather. Modern Grange Events

Taste of Place with Hirsch Vineyards

Sonoma’s coastal winegrowing region is known for extreme weather and extreme geology, and for producing wines of exquisite finesse, complexity, and balance. On a dramatic site straddling the San Andreas fault and overlooking of the Pacific Ocean, Hirsch Vineyards is recognized as one of the premier sites for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the New World. Taste their wines paired with a menu inspired by the remote vineyard in a special dinner in the SHED Grange with Jasmine Hirsch.

Jasmine’s father, David Hirsch, planted his vineyard in 1980, making it the oldest premium pinot vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. Since then it has become one of the most sought-after sources for Pinot Noir grapes in California, providing fruit to Littorai, Williams Selyem, Kistler and many others. In 2002, Hirsch began producing its own estate Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from this complex, cool-weather site. These are wines of balance, concentration, complexity and site-specificity.

Taste of Place is a unique dining series that explores Sonoma County’s wines through the terroir, history, and philosophy of the local growers and winemakers who inspire us. Gather with us to enjoy chef Perry Hoffman’s thoughtfully designed menu, one that represents a unique collaboration between winemaker and chef. Each Taste of Place dinner is designed to awaken the palate—and stimulate the brain—in a new way. By upending the usual winemaker’s dinner setting through the introduction of interviews, conversations, and unique additional sensory experiences, we aim to entice and provoke while creating fond memories of sharing the table together. Limited seating is available for this intimate event. Reserve your seat using the link at the right.
