Out Here at SHED: Picnic and Pie Parade

Join SHED and OUT HERE to celebrate the Healdsburg community with a “flash mob” town picnic and pie parade. We will all convene at the Healdsburg square at 5pm (don’t set up early, as the idea is to arrive and take over as a group). Bring your picnic and blanket, friends and family, and a home-baked pie. At 6pm, we will parade around the square with our pies (bells, whistles, percussion made from kitchenware, and musical instruments are encouraged!!), and then place our pies on a communal table to share with all. Members of the OUT HERE team will host a story recording station, where picnic participants will be invited to share stories and histories related to their pies. Stories will be posted on the OUT HERE website for all to enjoy!

Note: Remember that open containers of alcohol are not permitted in the square. Be sure to bring your own food and drink, as food vendors and additional refreshments will not be available at this event. If you are able, ride your bike to the square or carpool!

OUT HERE AT SHED

SHED has invited the local artist-run organization, OUT HERE, to be our “artists in residence” for the summer. OUT HERE will produce a series of community-centered events and projects that celebrate the personal stories, histories, and places that have shaped Sonoma County. OUT HERE creates interactive projects that expand definitions of art and it’s relationship to place. These projects include exhibitions, publications, field trips, performances, lectures, radio programs, and community dinners. OUT HERE is organized by artists Jessica Martin, Chelsea Wills, Victoria Wagner, Flora Skivington, Pat Lenz, and Caitlin McCaffrey.
