Roots of Change Presents Michael Ableman and Naomi Starkman

SHED is proud to support Roots of Change, a food and farming advocacy group with a strong history of campaigns that unify broad-based coalitions toward policy change. Join us in celebrating their work in this dinner of local, organic flavors of Sonoma County prepared by Chef Perry Hoffman in SHED’s Modern Grange. The event will feature a conversation with Michael Ableman, the pioneering founder of the largest urban farm in North America, and Naomi Starkman, journalist and founder of award winning food news site Civil Eats.
Local, organic, high quality is the fastest growing segment in the food world. That’s because it tastes great and is good for you too! But there is much more to the story. Come hear the story and more about Michael’s latest book, Street Farm: Growing Food, Jobs and Hope on the Urban Frontier at this unique event.
Menu
Roasted Root Vegetables with Sprouting Broccoli, Kumquats and Vadouvan Yogurt, Eucalyptus Honey, Oregano
Parade Farms Coq au Vin with Anson Mills Grains, Black Trumpet Mushrooms, Pate and Wild Greens

A portion of proceeds are tax deductible and will benefit Roots of Change, a non profit working to create local and sustainable food system across the state of California. Together, we can build the power of the food movement to educate and inspire political leaders to transform the food system. Please plan to join us!
