‘Tis the season to decorate your home with glorious, colorful pompoms! But then again, when is it not the season? Join us for a pompom party and play with beautiful colors, yarns, textures, and endless creative possibilities in this workshop with maker Lily Reid.
Lily’s enthusiasm for for yarn and textiles started at the ripe old age of 5 and is still going strong. Having made over 3,000 pompoms in her short life she has garnered the affectionate nick name, the PomPom Queen. She now spends her time growing Apprentice Studio, her small knitwear clothing line based in Petaluma.
We will also be selling Twirl Yarn, made by Mary Pettis-Sarley in the hills of Napa, CA. Mary’s fiber friends include several breeds of sheep, angora goats, llamas and alpacas whose wool she blends to make fabulous yarns. She lovingly names each skein after the animal whose fleece helped produce it. Mary’s yarn is all the more special because she dyes it herself using many natural dyes from her ranch, including indigo.
Workshop attendees will receive 10% of retail purchases at SHED the day of the event, perfect for stocking up on more yarn! Attendees will also go home with the pompom tool, all the pompoms made in class, and the knowledge and readiness to make many more. Once you start you won’t be able to stop!
