Planning a Biodynamic Farm or Garden

In the third meeting of the 2018 Biodynamic Series presented with Demeter USA, Biodynamic consultant Andrew Beedy will give an overview of how to plan a successful Biodynamic farm or garden, covering how to transition from a piece of land to a fully built botanical or commercial garden or a fully diversified Biodynamic farm. Andrew will show how to use tools like computer-generated design to help take a plot of land and make it a successful and economically viable Biodynamic property, practically considering diverse elements like orchards, vermacompost, and more.

Andrew Beedy was born on a Biodynamic dairy farm in Kimberton, Pennsylvania. When his family moved to Chilham, England, he grew up next to a large mixed Biodynamic farm and spent his off hours as a teen working at the Ripple Farm Organics horticultural farm in Kent. In 2008, Andrew headed to California to become the Farm/Estate Manager at Quivira Vineyards & Winery, where he spent four years developing the expansive gardens of the estate and created a new source of visitor traffic to the winery. He now consults with a variety of prominent Biodynamic, organic and sustainable farms and gardens throughout the country. He is known for his landscape compositions that create a multitude of visual, colorful and aesthetically pleasing layouts.
