Ice Cream Four Ways

Spend an evening learning how to make delicious fresh ice cream at home with chef and Real Cool Frozen Treats owner Maria deCorpo in this hands-on workshop. With guidance from Maria, you’ll work in groups as you learn how to make four inventive ice cream flavors using three different kinds of dairy milk and one non-dairy milk, all with local ingredients. The class will make and taste Tangy Lemon Goat’s Milk Ice Cream, Salted Caramel Sheep’s Milk Ice Cream, Gianduia Cow’s Milk Ice Cream and Strawberry-Rosewater Sorbet. All workshop participants will take home a packet of recipes and a 10% discount card for purchases made in the SHED retail store the day of the class. It’s perfect for stocking up on ingredients and supplies for your next ice cream adventure!
Maria deCorpo is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, and has been living and working in Sonoma County for more than 20 years. Maria has worked in many different areas of the food and wine industry as a chef, culinary and wine educator, and food sensory expert. She is currently the owner of Real Cool Frozen Treats, a Sonoma County-based business that makes and sells all-natural frozen dessert novelties (ice pops, ice cream sandwiches, etc.). Maria is committed to using local, organic, and fair-trade fruits, vegetables, herbs and flavoring ingredients in all Real Cool products and is an avid supporter of the sustainable food movement. In her spare time you will probably find Maria with her head in a book indulging her love of food history, food science, and the cultural impacts of food or digging in her raised veggie beds.
