Home Cooked with Anya Fernald

Anya Fernald’s approach to cooking is delicious, exuberant, and unpretentious. In her her new book, Home Cooked, the Belcampo founder shows how essential culinary building blocks are the basis for a kitchen repertoire that is inspired, thrifty, environmentally sound, and bursting with flavor.

In this interactive demonstration, Anya will show participants how to prepare sofritto, the essential building block of Italian cooking in three preparations: finishing a vegetable dish, thickening a soup or braise, and in a sauce for pasta.

Participants will taste the finished recipes along with two cocktail recipes featured in the book, and will get a preview tasting of Belcampo’s upcoming ham and whole-muscle charcuterie program. Each participant will go home with a small jar of sofritto. Specially discounted copies of Anna’s book are available with ticket purchase – select “Event with Book” under Ticket Type.

Anya Fernald is the co-founder and CEO of Belcampo Inc., a group of innovative, agricultural ventures in California and Belize, which strives to make good food both the old fashioned way on a larger scale than ever before.
