Gather. Modern Grange Events

In this special evening in the SHED Grange, join local filmmaker Flora Skivington for a selection of documentary short films exploring farming, field workers, scientists, and wildlife educators’ experiences of rural Sonoma and Mendocino County.

Flora Skivington‘s films inquire into the power of rural places to influence and inspire people. Her films have been shown at film festivals, art galleries and other public venues in the US and Europe, including the Institute of Contemporary Art in London and the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Belfast. One of her films Oscar & Isabelle was shot and co-edited by long term Matthew Barney collaborators. Her films have won awards at film festivals in the categories of best cinematography, scriptwriting, and best overall film.  She has an MFA Film from San Francisco Art Institute and a PhD in Fine Art (Film by Practice) from University of Oxford’s Ruskin School of Art.
