Cheese Course with Janet Fletcher: Better with Bubbles

To kick your cheese course up a notch, open a bubbly. In this tasting cheese expert Janet Fletcher will be joined by joined by Roederer Estate’s Darrin Low to pop the cork on some fine sparkling wines from Mendocino County’s Roederer Estate and sample them with cheeses that rise to the occasion. From triple crèmes to aged cheese to buttery blues, many cheeses love that effervescence. We’ll taste seven cheeses that Janet consider slam-dunk matches for a range of elegant sparkling wines of Roederer.

Janet Fletcher is the author or co-author of more than two dozen books on food and beverage, including Cheese & Wine, Cheese & Beer and The Cheese Course. Janet publishes the weekly Planet Cheese blog, writes a regular cheese column for Specialty Food magazine and The Somm Journal and teaches cooking and cheese-appreciation classes around the country. She is the recipient of three James Beard Awards and the IACP Bert Greene Award for her journalism.
