Gather. Modern Grange Events

Bread, Wine, Chocolate

Through the story of the foods we love, award-winning food and sustainability journalist Simran Sethis Bread, Wine, Chocolate  is an investigation of the loss of biodiversity from soil to plate.

In this presentation and tasting, Simran will discuss her research through every part of the food system – from soil to seed to pollinator and from plant to fish to animal, and discuss how the last century has brought the most dramatic shifts ever experienced in food and agriculture.

The presentation will include a discussion and tasting of a particularly rare grape varietal – Trosseau Gris – along with Russian River Valley grapegrower Peter Fanucchi, and Caleb Taft, wine director at Arlequin in San Francisco.

Join us for a journey across six continents in pursuit of delicious and endangered tastes to discover what we are losing, how we are losing it, and the inspiring people and places that are bringing back the foods we love.
Tickets include the presentation, and wine tasting. Discounted copies of Bread, Wine, Chocolate are available for preorder at the ticket link provided and will be available for pick-up at the event.
