Brave New Music Performance

The renowned Szymanowski Quartet, one of the most exceptional international string quartets of its generation, will headline the second Brave New Music concert of the second season. Founded in Warsaw in 1995, the quartet has earned critical acclaim among the greatest concert halls of Europe, the United States, Asia, Australia, and South America. As Bernard Holland of the New York Times wrote about the group, “all professionals perform with intensity but playing from the heart is another matter. It was not hard to fall in love with them.” The Quartet’s program will reflect their Polish and Ukrainian heritages when they perform Nocturne and Tarantella by their namesake Karol Szymanowski, and Quartet No. 4 by Grazyna Bacewicz. Also on the program is a transcription of the ever popular “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Modest Mussorgsky.
Tickets are $25 may be purchased online throughwww.bravenewmusic.org until 8:00 p.m. the night before the concert.
