One day Nick Rupiper bought one hen and became obsessed.  The next week he got four more.  The week after that he got 12.  The next year he got a hundred. A few years later he got thousands and started Nix Chix selling pasture raised eggs to some of the best places in the Bay Area such as Boulette’s Larder, Bi Rite Market, Chez Panisse, Quince, Bar Agricole, Reader’s Books, Sonoma Farmers’ Market and more.  The number of chickens got a little out of hand, so he brought it back down to “just a grip of hens” in the front yard.  He may have less hens these days, but his obsession is still the same.
